WWE Raw Results (7/6): Sami Zayn vs. Cody Rhodes

WWE Raw Results (7/6)

• Sami Zayn arrives and is confronted by Cody Rhodes backstage. Sami says that Cody isn’t going to reclaim his spot and that he’ll walk out of Chicago still the champion. Cody wishes him luck and that he does think he will walk out as the champion. Gunther attacks Cody, powerbombing him through a table. Gunther says he’s coming for Sami, and then kicks the car door into Cody’s head.
• Seth Rollins is welcomed by “CM Punk” chants. Seth says that Punk is not his business. His business is continuing to own Roman Reigns, which draws “OTC” chants. Seth says Roman is not there. Seth says that Roman has been the chosen one since day one, no matter if he could cut a promo or wrestle. Seth says that since he was a child, his dream was to be the biggest star and main event WrestleMania. “To watch those dreams be handed off to someone else broke something in me.” He said every decision he made was because of his dreams being handed off to someone he didn’t feel he deserved it. Seth said that he thought he and Roman were running the same race, but he was wrong. He said it didn’t sit right with him that Roman said he worked ten times less, but made ten times more. He said Seth was about the work and that Roman needs to justify his spot, but Seth needs to win to prove to himself that hard work allows you to achieve greatness. LA Knight interrupts. Knight says that Roman and Seth are boring everyone to sleep with the same trash and that Seth used a “cheat code” to talk about their greatness to get a title shot. “I remember a time where you had to win matches to get a title shot.” Knight says Seth and Roman are brothering up so Seth can get a title shot. Knight says when business was booming a couple of years ago, he was making his rise, but he was cut off by the Bloodline and Seth Rollins. “You’re great at manipulating numbers to hold guys like me down.” Seth says that he doesn’t like LA Knight, but respects him because he is hard work, but right now he can’t worry about him. Seth says when he gets the title back, Knight can be the first person to step to him.
• Rollins leaves and Jimmy Uso superkicks Knight.
• Nick Aldis returns as Gunther is kicked out of the building.
• Backstage, Paul Heyman tells Austin Theory that he couldn’t take out Joe Hendry, and that if he can’t return with something worthy, he shouldn’t come back to him at all.
• WWE World Tag Team Championships: The Vision (Austin Theory & Bron Breakker) def. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) (c) to win the titles. Maxxine Dupri interfered, low blowing Dawkins to help The Vision win.
• The doctor won’t clear Cody for his match. Cody says he is fine.
• Logan Paul is hyping up Breakker and Theory. Heyman said that was only the first step, and praises Maxxine for accomplishing something tonight. Otis and Tozawa look on as The Vision leave.
• Liv Morgan hypes up Raquel Rodriguez, who says she will take the Women’s IC Title tonight.
• A number one contender’s gauntlet for the IC Title is announced for next Monday. Penta says he is excited before being confronted by Ethan Page and Rusev. Chad Gable and Dragon Lee have Penta’s back.
• WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Sol Ruca (c) def. Raquel Rodriguez. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez interfered, but IYO SKY took them out.
• Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi recap video.
• Paul Heyman addresses Oba Femi. Heyman says that Lesnar kicking Oba in the dick is nothing compared to the pain he’ll feel inside Hell in a Cell. He says Oba has made the biggest mistake of his life accepting Lesnar’s challenge. Oba confronts Heyman, who runs down Lesnar’s accomplishments and says that Oba is beatable. Oba says that what he said got under Brock’s skin and that the fact that he showed up shows he watches the show. Oba says this is the final chapter for Lesnar.
• Jackie Redmond informs Sami Zayn that Cody Rhodes is unable to compete tonight. Sami, smiling, says that is terrible, and he’s disappointed because he was looking to test himself. Adam Pearce says Sami will still defend his title in the main event.
• Rusev & Ethan Page def. Dragon Lee & Chad Gable
• Rusev puts Gable in the Accolade. Joe Hendry makes the save, but Rusev and Page take him out.
• LA Knight tries to confront Jimmy Uso outside, but he’s attacked by Jacob Fatu.
• Bayley vignette reacting to Lyra’s turn. She challenges Lyra to meet her face-to-face next week.
• Nick Aldis says he has found the replacement to face Sami Zayn.
• JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio vignette telling Danhausen to uncurse them.
• CM Punk makes his way to the ring.
• Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk def. Sami Zayn (c) to win the title
