This has been bothering me a while.

I have been seeing this more and more lately with the WWE and it seems as much as I hated TNA they are getting it right now.

 

WWE in general has seem to be lately catering to the IWC and others showing good wrestling yes I admit that there is good wrestling but their just isn’t any good characters anymore.

 

I mean back then we had The Undertaker an undead whatever he was destroy all opposition.  Kane be an unstoppable demonic force of nature, Mankind who belonged in a mental asylum, Stone Cold a bad ass redneck bent on destruction.  

 

The point of this is that It seems they are catering to the Wrestling aspect more than what they are actually famous for and that is DAMN good character builds.  

 

Lets look at what we have now.

 

Chris Jericho.  Still entertaining as hell because he knows how to make an entertaining character.  How did the new day get over??  Their characters..  Finn Balor is loved for his appearances as The Demon and his more aggressive stance he takes when he is portraying the demon.  Hell even the whole split personality Kane when he was corporate Kane and Demon Kane and was oblivious to his Demon Kane was entertaining.

 

Now I may get hate here but lets look at the current roster.

 

Sami Zayn.  Cab driver gone wrestler cool I’m behind that.

Kevin Owens.  Tough Guy

Seth Rollins.  Good talker amazing ring work

Roman.  Tough Guy

Sheamus Tough guy

Cesaro 007 tough guy

Big Show.  He’s Big as fuck

Bo Dallas.  Great gimmick but wont go anywhere because of PR

Bray:  This dude gets it

Dean Ambrose: Lunatic that isn’t really crazy unless they decide to ditch PG then you’ll see what he can really do

Rusev:  Generic monster Heel with a mouth piece 

Brock:  (See Rusev) At this point Brock does nothing for me

Orton: If he can be the Viper he was during the STeph Triple H fued GOLD

 

Basically all we see now are wrestlers that are tough guys.  And it is so apparent that it’s getting tremendously boring.
 

Why is Smackdown getting so much Praise now?  They are doing it Right and building Characters

Heath Slater??????????  Pff think nothing of it PURE GOLD!!  Paring him with Rhyno?  GOLD

This was like just a major rant to me and I donno if anything I have said here makes any kind of sense but hopefully you get what I mean..

 

All In all WWE needs to start building Characters again.  

 

WWE is SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT

If it’s just Wrestling with wrestlers disagreeing and attacking each other just call it Staged UFC.
